The BC Curriculum website has been my most valuable tool during my time as a teacher candidate. The top of the website has the category titled “Curriculum”, which I have used countless times when creating both unit and lesson plans. The curriculum category contains every subject and grade level for our BC educational system. Upon pressing “Curriculum”, any grade or subject can be selected for further exploration. Pressing the grade level of a specific subject will take you to a page with a list of the core competencies, big ideas, and learning standards. From this page, the core competencies of communication, thinking, and personal & social can also be further explored. I would not have gotten this far as a teacher candidate without the use of the BC Curriculum website, it has been beyond insightful and valuable.
